Audience of One

faith, lifebrittany graham

If you’re anything like me you’re constantly being overlooked in life. Feeling like no matter what you do, how positive you stay or how hard you work, you’re never good enough. I feel like my entire life in certain aspects of my life I just wasn’t good enough, or “just not what we’re looking for.”  As it relates to basketball, I was too small, not strong enough, too slow, not versatile...whatever it seemed to be, I wasn't enough! But what about being skilled, a good passer, a damn good three-point shooter, good student, and an even better person? Do those qualities count for anything? Because at the time, I felt like they didn’t matter and I couldn’t do anything right and was never good enough.

When it comes to adulting it then became, you don’t have enough experience, you’re not skilled enough in this area, we’re looking to go in different direction, but we will stay connected and keep in touch in case something comes open in the future. You know that whole thing.

It feels like sometimes no matter how hard you work, or how many times you focus on doing things the right way it still seems as if you don't get what you deserve. It all becomes even harder when you start to seeing the people around you move up, get the promotion, or an awesome new job and you're just stuck because you're always overlooked and under appreciated.

Whenever I start to feel like this instead of feeling bitter or sorry for myself, I use these feelings to drive me even harder to prove the naysayers wrong.

However even still, it should be known that you are living for an audience of One...GOD.

It's easy to get wrapped up into who likes us, getting attention and the approval of our peers. But regardless of whether people notice you or your talents, God never ignores us. He wants us to do our best for Him at all times and he will bless us with what we need when the time is right.

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.
— Colossians 3:23-24 NLT

It might feel like you are alone. Like nobody ever notices all of the positive good things you bring to table, how hard you are working, or the sacrifices you are making to succeed. But God does, as He see's it all. "For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him" 2 Chronicles 16:9. When times get difficult just remember that the only approval you need is from the One above. Let those against you continue to sleep on you, work hard in silence let success be the noise. If you need some more good thoughts to pick you up on being overlooked check out this Joel Osteen Podcast below and my "Fake Love" playlist on Spotify, both below.

Remember Why

motivation, lifebrittany graham

Things in life almost never go like we planned. With that being said, it's always important to remember why you started. Sometimes it's easy to lose focus and sight of your goals in the hustle and bustle of the everyday life work grind. We all at times get these amazing ideas and set high standards but lose the intensity to reach them when the path to get there becomes difficult. Other times, we get complacent or lackadaisical and progress becomes slower and slower.

SO, like I said, always...remember why you started. When you feel yourself getting off track, losing focused, or even becoming lazy. Get back to the mindset you had when you started, stay focused and remember each and everyday why you're doing what you do. It's for a reason, a purpose, the pain and struggle to get there is always worth it when you're focused on your why.

Turn Up Your Hustle

dream live ball, motivation, lifebrittany graham

We're human. So we all know that sometimes, a lot of times we can get in our feelings just a little too much. When someone or something throws you off track. When you fall into a slump and start to feel sorry for yourself and overly emotional for no real reason.

Wanna know the cure? Work harder. Time is valuable and too short to let short term feelings stop you from getting better.

Sometimes you have to learn how to turn down your feelings and turn up your hustle. Because if we're being honest with each other, your feelings don't care about your goals so don't let them get in the way.

Grind, work harder, and find a way to get sh*t done. It's okay to have feelings, we all get emotional sometimes but, never let your feelings stop you from being great.

Today and everyday find a way to grind it out. Turn down your feelings and turn up your hustle and get the job done.

I love you guys.

Always,

#DreamLiveBall

Life Lately, Doing What I Love❤️

Life lately…

❤️📷 I love it!!!

❤️📷 I love it!!!

Just wanted to give you guys a quick little update on what’s been going on with my life lately. For starters, I cannot believe October is nearly over, where has time gone? I always feel like once Halloween hits everything is no longer moving in slow motion and life starts to fly by, with or without you. I’m happy to say that this year I’m happily choosing to go with life.

The past month or so I’ve been working extremely hard to produce good content straight from the heart for this blog. After a bad few weeks of not feeling inspired to write or motivated to even try, I’m happy to report ya girl is back in action 😎.

Finally pretty decent right?

Finally pretty decent right?

And for starters, can we all just take a second to appreciate the results of my IG (@DreamLiveBall) theme/feed, since I've actually been putting effort into it. I'm finally starting to love it!!!

SO...Basically, what had happened was…I got off my ass, got real with myself, stopped making excuses, and make ish happen. I started with just doing more of what I love and rest was history. In this past month alone, I can’t tell you how many times I've taken pictures with my DSLR, filmed videos, and found quality time to read and write. It’s amazing how much better life is when you do more of what you love💕.

That itself is enough inspiration for days,  and I’m not looking back #TunnelVision.W

Waiting for: The weather to get colder, I'm NOT ready for it to be cold, but it's low key freaking me out that it's still fairly warm every day...and that's making me nervous that this winter is going to be bad...😬
