January was something special <3
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I can’t believe it's officially 2016 and another year is upon us. With the fresh start of a new year it’s only natural to reflect on the past year to see just how much has changed in the past 12 months. Looking back now, soo…much happened in my life in 2015. I overcame stress/anxiety, got a new job, drove halfway across the country (by myself), moved to Denver, went to the Bahamas, took 15 flights, flew to Cali, Seattle, Milwaukee, Florida, Kansas City, and most recently South Dakota on NYE with the team!
At the beginning of 2015 last January I was probably at an all time low. Stressed, unhappy, and living life with no hope as it seemed like it was struggle to get through each day. During the middle of basketball season I was in ER a couple of times, had multiple EKG’s, a CT, ultra sounds on my chest, and a stress test all within a month. Following that up dealing with personal and family issues that tore my world upside down feeling like my life turned into some dramatic Lifetime movie was insane. I was convinced that 2015 had it out for me as it was poised to be THE worst year of my life.
But, a little faith goes a long way. In late March I quit filling sorry for myself, temporary circumstances and found hope. I woke up one morning, prayed, and decided to fight. For myself, for my life, and for my dreams. Two weeks later God blessed me with a new job in April, and a month later I was in Denver. Wayyyy up I feel #BLESSED!!!! Crazy how God can turn your life around literally in the blink of an eye.
Here I am 12 months later living a completely differently life than I ever thought was possible this time last year. I could easily sit here and tell myself that 2015 was awful, even though at times…it was. But I refuse to let everything bad that happened this past year outweigh some of the best memories of my life.
I’m so ready for a new year and fresh start, 2016 I have high hopes for you.
Memories of 2015:
I was bored last night and decided to take a look at the old videos on my hard drive...little did I know this video would be the result as I left feeling inspired. SO...here is the first of MANY videos to come of my visual journal for my 29th year of life!!!
If you're a college football fan like myself then I'm sure by now you have witnessed, well a miracle and the works of a higher power. In Saturday afternoons Michigan State at Michigan game, it was all but over with Michigan up 23-21 with about 9 seconds left. All Michigan needed to do was punt the ball and it was over. Watching the game live I couldn't even tell you what happened next, or how it all unfolded. All I could was continuously yell "OMG...OMG...OMG!!!" louder and louder until Michigan State recovered the punt and scored a touchdown to win the game as time expired leaving over 100,000 fans in shock, pure disbelief. It was seriously one of the most exciting plays I have ever witnessed. Never give up, and never give in. The game was supposed to be over, but with time left there is always still time to believe, and time to fight. Need a little pick up this Monday morning? Watch the video below as it applies to life in general through any situation you may be facing.
